The last day in Haripur. In the morning, we were picked up, and the first thing on the agenda was a visit to our new goat and chicken farm. This will be managed by the Dalits of Ward 7. The income model for them is truly wonderful and promotes self-sufficiency.
Then, preparations for the sports and games day. The children arrived at 12:00 PM, and we started the games organized by Jesper. It was wonderful!
Eating at a local KFC-like place.
And the closing was truly beautiful. It was a complete surprise for the children; we arranged for them to be picked up by a large bus and taken half an hour away to dine at a local KFC-like place. They had never seen the inside of a bus before, let alone a KFC. It turned into a big celebration. Afterward, all the children received a notebook, pencil, balloons, bubble blowers, and a lollipop. It was such a joy! And the heat was extremely intense; I've never experienced such oppressive and humid heat before.
Tonight, we will conclude with a dinner at Arbind's family home before departing for our next destination, Chitwan, tomorrow. There, we will visit a farm where they produce Yak bones, one of the most popular dog bones sold at Diertotaal. The goal is to explore the possibility of establishing this in Haripur as well, bringing another piece of the economy into the area and facilitating direct exports.
