Visit Haripur Nepal – Wijtze & Rob – Day 6

We said an emotional goodbye to Arbind’s extended family. Several adopted nieces and nephews live in his home and his 4 brothers were out there doing community work. What an amazing family. We then walked through the village where we took loads of pictures and videos, as all people loved to have their picture taken. We we lucky to attend a ceremony where young women and their mothers were calling upon the gods for good husbands.

Goodbye to our little friends

We then called for a last visit at our school to say goodbye to our little friends. We will miss them, they really found a place in our hearts. Our lovely driver Shresta, who took us everywhere during this week got us to Kathmandu safely after a long, bumpy ride which took us 9 hours. During our meal with Arbind we went through our to-do list, checking on priorities. Due to financial restrictions we will start with the nursery home, the vegetable garden and the cooperation with the Everest College. The first results of that should be visible within the next couple of months. Other projects will have to wait a little while.

Back to our families

Tomorrow morning a bit of sight seeing in Kathmandu and then back to our families in the Netherlands.
